This has been a really weird winter for Toronto. This time we’ve got a severe wind storm warning, with damaging winds continuing throughout the day tomorrow. My question is, “Will my workplace be closed tomorrow morning because of the bad weather?” They didn’t close it the last time, except later in the day, but let’s see what the cards say.
I pull out my Lenormand cards (Bernd Mertz version) and decide to try a new spread, this one created by Bent Soerensen, Camelia Elias’ partner, of Aradia Academy. You can read Camelias’ post on Patheos here. (I’m not sure I followed the instructions exactly as outlined in her post, but it still worked out for me.)
The spread is called “X marks the Spot”. As Camelia explains, you lay out a cross pattern with nine cards, then pull out a tenth one, which will remain covered until the end. That tenth card is the real answer. In Camelias’ reading, the ninth card (placed in the centre) will also be a clue, but it can be a “fake” clue. The final answer is with the tenth card.

Let’s have a look. The Star followed by the Child seems to open the path for a new idea. Then the fish in the centre (possibly a fake clue), speaks of money or at least a lot of something. The something can also be money, of course, since money is a consideration when you close your office for some time.
If we follow that line down to the bottom right, we see the Birds followed by the Paths. There seems to be some stressful discussion (the Birds) in trying to make a decision (the Paths). Hmm…
The outlook doesn’t seem too good. In spite of good will (the Bouquet) and support for the idea from the entire “family” (the Lily), the boss (the Bear) finally says “No” (the Coffin).
Final card: the Whip. Recurring arguments (the Whip) about money (the Fish), mean we get our backsides whupped back to work. 😆 Oh well…

Thank you to Bent Soerensen and Camelia Elias for a fun spread!
If you’re in Toronto, have a safe commute to work tomorrow.
