We’re going to the Opera tonight. “The Magic Flute” (Card XX/Le Jugement) is playing at Koerner Hall. It’s a fairy tale set to music and is about finding love (Card VI/L’Amoureux). The young man in Card VI seems to be torn between the orders of the Queen of the Night and his desire for her daughter. A bird catcher also plays a comic role in it, and I can’t help seeing that Cupid above them as a bird flying about. 😃

It looks like the audience will be very attentive (Card XX/Le Jugement); the performance will go well and bring the house down (Card XVI/La Maison-Dieu). Either that or it will be snowing outside. (Card XVI/La Maison-Dieu)! 😜
